How long does it take to deliver 1,000 leaflets?

How long does it really take to deliver 1,000 leaflets door to door in London?

At The Private Postman we pride ourselves on caring for our workers and dealing with facts & truth.
We have seen some competitors claiming that it takes 8-10 hours to deliver 1000 leaflets door to door in London
while this time can be cut in half by jogging.

Let's see if that is true.

Google FACT: “It takes 4-5 hours to jog the London Marathon”

Fact 1:

- 1,000 leaflets delivered door to door in London
does not equate to 1,000 houses.

- Many London houses have multiple bells/flats.

- The Private Postman delivers:

1 leaflet for 1 doorbell
2 for 2
and max of 3 leaflets for 3 bells.

Fact 3:

Fact 4:

The Private Postman ‘Rounds’ are pre-set using our expert knowledge.
We set each round to 800-1,000 leaflets.

It takes around 2-3.5 hours to deliver each round at normal walking tempo with no need to jog.

Fact 5:

Some leaflet distribution companies claim they ‘jog’ while delivering leaflets to save time.

They also claim that it takes 8-10 hours to deliver a 1,000 leaflets.

Their reasoning is that ‘walking distributors’ are too slow and that due to the slow delivery speed get paid below the minimum wage.

The ‘joggers’ whole U.S.P. is based on ‘the others are too slow/underpaid’
they even have a little cartoon to try and prove their point.

So, the jogging companies are asking you to believe…

Their ‘jogging’ leaflet distributors each jog 4-5 hours or ONE MARATHON A DAY, FIVE DAYS A WEEK.

Their full time workers jog 10 hours a day or jog TWO MARATHONS A DAY, FIVE DAYS A WEEK.

Are they superhuman? Is that possible?

Fact 6:

Royal Mail walking delivery times are around 3-5 hours
and also have around 500 houses (around 1,000 addresses).

They do this effortlessly every day while stopping regularly, signing for deliveries and more.

Fact 7:

How leaflet delivery people get paid:

1. A ‘solo/solus delivery’ only has one ‘income stream’ (one leaflet) so in most cases it is the least paid job of all leaflet delivery companies.

2. A ‘shared delivery’ has two or three income streams (2 or 3 different leaflets) so it’s possible to pay the workers more for shared delivery.

The Private Postman runs the finest and most well-paid shared delivery in London.

The jogging/ team companies only run solo deliveries.
