What is the best way to track a leaflet distribution campaign?

Live tracking is something that The Private Postman brought to the world of leaflet distribution in London some 10 years ago back in 2009.

When our MD Mark Redmond noticed that some of the delivery methods and techniques he has learned during his career at the Royal Mail could be used in leaflet distribution – tracking was one of the first he implemented.

Tracking allows the customer to understand how their flyer drop progressed and can also act as a guarantee of delivery.

Seeing time-stamped, detailed GPS records of the whereabouts of each distributor that carried your leaflets at the end of a successful campaign is priceless.

There are two methods of tracking your deliveries

GPS

GPS leaflet tracking relies on a small device that tracks and records the location of a distributor carrying it during their deliveries.

This data is then superimposed over Google Maps and sent to the client at the end of a campaign acting as a proof of delivery. For a long time this was the industry standard and the best way to track a leaflet distribution campaign.

The resolution of the files coming out of the GPS leaflet tracking can be very good and one can see the distributor walking up to each individual home or house entrance when zoomed in.

As we mentioned above The Private Postman is the company that brought GPS tracking to the London flyer distribution industry and we are very proud of it.

Live Tracking

GPS Tracking
The world has moved on since then and even though GPS files can be very detailed and reliable the idea of what is the best way to track a leaflet distribution campaign has evolved.

Live tracking can work in a variety of ways.

The way we have decided to implement it is a client live texting system that informs each of our clients when and where their flyers are being delivered in real time and updates them on the progress of their campaign every approximately 800 leaflets.

This in combination with GPS leaflet tracking provides an unparalleled level of transparency.

The best way to track a leaflet distribution campaign is to combine both of these methods together.

The Live Tracking allows for you to conduct unannounced visits to see your flyers being delivered and check on the quality of work done without being seen.

With that said, you will not be able to do this all the time and the files generated by our GPS leaflet tracking system allow you to check on the progress of the whole campaign and the delivery to each individual home.

Long gone are the days of worrying about what will happen to your leaflets once you hand them over to your distribution company.

There is no room for anyone to ‘dump’ leaflets, miss deliveries or pretend that your flyers have been handed out while they sit in a warehouse.

These issues are truly of the past and The Private Postman has pushed the envelope in ensuring this. Since 2009 when we entered the market we’ve been giving you, the client as many tools to confirm the quality of your deliveries as possible.
