Leaflet distribution is an effective way of marketing many different types of businesses in London. Large multi national corporations use it as well as local businesses and self employed individuals.
But how do we make sure that your leaflet distribution efforts are yielding the best results possible? Leaflet design is a huge part of this. Let's have a look at designing the perfect leaflet.
Who should do it?
We at The Private Postman have multiple solutions to help our clients get the best design possible. We have a graphic design team on staff to help with both the concept as well as the realisation of your design.
There are many elements that are important in the making of the right leaflet for you and it is a good idea to let the pros handle as much of the process as possible.
If you feel like you either want to create your design yourself or have your own designer we also offer free design consultations for all our clients. We have a look at your leaflet before it goes to print and offer you suggestions for changes you can make that should improve your response rates.
We have years of data and experience which helps us really hone down on what works in the real world. Experience plays a big role in designing the perfect leaflet.
As repeated drops and segmented leaflet distribution campaigns in London have become more common it is a good idea to have multiple design of the same leaflet.
This doesn't mean that you should develop and realise completely different concepts but that having multiple images that can be used on the front page of the leaflet can help you keep your leaflets fresh while keeping your message consistent.
You can and should use the same branding, fonts and potentially even colour scheme across your designs.
Size and format
There are many different types of paper one can use to print a leaflet as well as many different formats. Gate folded, Z Folded, DL sized and many others.
We at The Private Postman generally recommend using an A5 leaflet at cca 200gsm weight to most our clients.
Using a more involved format can be helpful in some specific circumstances but often the cost does outweigh the benefit. To illustrate a point there is no reason for a Tree Surgeon looking to deliver all over London to pay 3x the cost for their print to gave a gate folded leaflet rather than a standard A5.
On the other hand a custom jewellery business that is looking to deliver only to selected parts of Chelsea and Knightsbridge might want consider a more elaborate format.
Using our PPE logos
We've developed a series of graphics to help our clients communicate the steps they are taking while dealing with the coronavirus situation. These are clear enough to deliver the idea but will not take over your leaflet's message.
Our clients can download these and use then in their leaflet as well as their website or other forms of marketing.
We hope that designing the perfect leaflet will be somewhat easier after reading this blog. If you have any questions or if you'd like to book a leaflet distribution campaign in London please feel free to get in touch here.
