What is the best way to track a leaflet distribution campaign

We often hear questions from potential clients in the vein of

- How do I know that our leaflets will get delivered and not thrown away?
- How can I be sure that all my leaflet have been delivered as agreed?

At The Private Postman, we run all the typical preventative systems you would expect from a modern leaflet distribution company. We have supervisors checking the progress of all our leaflet distribution campaigns on daily basis. We have GPS tracking systems that allow us to share gps snail-trails of all of our distributors with our clients. These things are the industry standard and even though we have introduced some of these as the first company in London years ago they are now expected and rightly so.
There is one specific part of our tracking system however puts as ahead of our competition. It is called the Mercury System.
Through the Mercury System we message our clients whenever their leaflet are being delivered in real time. These messages are basically a relay of our internal messages that our workers send to their supervisors to allow them to properly check that everything went well with their deliveries.

 

These messages include the street name, house number where the delivery is starting and a coded map area in which they will be delivering their next 800 leaflets. What this means is that all of our clients know exactly where their leaflets are being distributed in real time. They have the ability to send their own employees to check or come see the distribution progress on their own. This is a vastly different and superior system to some of the other solutions out there. Other companies will allow you, for example, to come see the distribution of your leaflets on a given day with one of their supervisor. In this situation however all of the distributors know that you as a client are coming which will surely result in a more careful approach to distribution than on the average day.
With our system, we never know which client is checking the quality of our deliveries or even when and where this is taking place.

Some of our clients have used this to alert their friends living in the areas covered by our distributors to keep their eyes open for their leaflets. Some just spend ten minutes sitting in a car watching our workers walk up and down the street delivering.

The feedback after introducing the Mercury System to our deliveries has been fantastic.
